Slate Studio officially opened its doors on April 1st , 2021 after nearly a year in development. It is owned by husband-and-wife duo Keith and Harmony Bidwell. They are a barber and a cosmetologist respectively and are plying their crafts at Slate. It is the second location for them, and they have been business partners since January 2017 when they opened  Apotheosis Salon. Their future holds many more years providing hair services for the amazing folks in this thriving town of Portland, Maine.

We are a booth rental salon, meaning each  member of our team is an independent business owner. They set their own hours, determine their own prices and schedule their own appointments. Slate Studio is deeply committed to supporting small, local businesses and we have determined that this business model is the most in line with our ethical stance.
